Academic Advising

The mission of the Office of Academic Advising is to empower you with the resources and tools you need to thrive as an ethical, global citizen. We want you to achieve realistic academic and professional goals. Our office consists of faculty and staff Care Team members who work together. And because Wingate University values lifelong learning, throughout their careers your advisors continually learn how best to serve you.

Wingate’s team approach to student advising recognizes that “it takes a village” to support, guide and encourage life-ready and career-ready graduates. Like all students, you will have a faculty advisor, a career service advisor and a Gateway 101 instructor assigned to your Care Team to support you and help ensure that you excel while transitioning from high school to university life.

You will receive your Care Team contact information in August along with fall course schedules. Maintaining regular contact with your Care Team will be a huge step toward ensuring your success at Wingate. The Care Team will reach out to you too! Relationships between students and advisors are ones of shared responsibilities. You are ultimately responsible for the choices you make in college, but remember, educated and informed decisions are better made with mentoring and advisement.
